Then you close it and tell yourself you’ll deal with printing later.

Not because families don’t care. Because figuring out what to print, what size, what wall is genuinely overwhelming when you’re doing it alone.

That’s why what happens after a session with me looks different.

What to Expect After Your Family Photo Session

After I’ve edited your images, we meet for a reveal appointment—at your home or virtually—for about an hour. You see your photos for the first time together, not alone in a hurried scroll through a download link late at night.

There’s time to actually look. Time to feel something without immediately having to decide what to do about it.

The goal for this appointment is to help you land on the images that belong on your wall. The ones you’ll walk past ten years from now and still feel something about.

We figure out together what fits the space you have, what works with how you actually live, what you’ll want to look at long-term. I help you think through scale, placement, what goes together. You leave with a real order placed, not a folder of files and good intentions.

What Does It Feel Like to See Your Images for the First Time?

Most people expect to feel happy. What they don’t expect is how specific the feeling is.

There’s always one you didn’t see coming; a moment you weren’t watching for, that I was. Your partner mid-laugh, caught off guard. The one where nobody’s posed, and it’s the most accurate picture of your family that’s ever existed. You’ll see it and think: that’s exactly them.

That moment—the one where you know exactly which image goes above the couch—is what the reveal appointment is for. It doesn’t happen when you’re scrolling alone. It happens when you have time and space and someone helping you look.

Framed wall art arrives ready to hang in a range of sizes. Fine art prints are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright White archival paper. Matted prints come ready to frame or sit on a shelf. Fine art albums are lay-flat with a range of cover colors and sizes, the kind of thing that gets pulled off the shelf regularly. The glass museum box is a handcrafted display box with a glass lid, matted prints inside, meant to sit on a coffee table and actually be seen.

I print everything through professional labs I trust. The difference between what comes out of my labs and what you’d get at a drugstore or big box store is visible — in the color, the paper, the way it holds up ten, twenty, thirty years from now.

When I finally printed my daughter’s newborn photos, both girls started stopping at the wall to look. My oldest wanted to know which one was which, who was bigger, what they were like as babies. She’s deeply invested in the fact that she was once small enough to fit in “my pocket” (the baby wrap).
